Educational Games Online!

For this emerging technology post I will be talking about educational games online.
Educational games are a great way for most kids to learn and stay engaged at the same time.  Online there are games for many different subjects.  For this blog i am reviewing  www.games.edublogs.org.

This is a blog about educational game sites.  I chose to look into math games to see what i could find. Although there were sites that had games relating to science, math, and reading.

All you have to do is go to the above link, and choose from a list of educational game sites, i chose to check out math playground, this took me to a website in which i could choose from several different games that challenge several concepts in math such as, pre-algebra, algebra, fractions, graphing linear equations, decimals and many others.

This could be a very helpful tool to teachers looking to keep their students engaged in the classroom and to mix up teaching methods, this would also effectively integrate technology into the classroom.

Hope you enjoy the games!

  1. I have to agree! Teachers need to make learning more fun to keep them interested in what they are learning. I also think it is very important for teachers to take the time out and plan fun activities for the students to do.

  3. I believe the way to learning, and by default, to teach, is through fun. Everyone learns better when they are enjoying themselves. I am a true testament to that. I learned quick addition while my father was teaching me to play cribbage. He kept stealing my points and I was determined that he not steal another one, thanks to him and a simple game of cards I learned a great skill and loved doing it at the same time.

  4. I've heard of this site and I went on it to see what was good about about it. The games were really fun and also, I feel that do need to have fun in the classroom. Just as it is said, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". We don't want our students to get bored so it is good to let them have a little fun.
